Welcome to VURT™ (“VURT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the VURT website, platform, or related services (collectively, the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

 

1. About VURT

VURT is a cultural platform built for vertical storytelling, designed to support Black creators and audiences who value craft, voice, and intention. VURT is not a social media platform and does not operate as an algorithm-driven content feed.

 

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Platform. By using VURT, you represent that you meet this requirement.

 

3. Accounts and Access

Certain features of the Platform may require you to create an account or submit information, such as joining a waitlist or submitting a project. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Platform responsibly.

VURT reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.

 

4. Creator Submissions and Content

Creators retain full ownership of any original content they submit to VURT unless otherwise agreed to in a separate written agreement. Submitting content does not transfer copyright or ownership to VURT.

By submitting content, you grant VURT a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to review, display, evaluate, and, if selected, showcase the content solely for platform-related purposes. This license exists only to operate and promote the Platform and does not authorize resale or exploitation outside of VURT without additional agreement.

You represent that you own or have the rights to the submitted content, that the content does not infringe on third-party rights, and that it complies with applicable laws.

 

5. Curation and Editorial Discretion

VURT is a curated platform. Submission does not guarantee publication, distribution, or selection.

VURT reserves full editorial discretion regarding what content is featured, how content is presented, and how the Platform is organized. Curation decisions are intentional and not algorithmic.

 

6. Audience Use

Content on VURT is provided for personal, non-commercial viewing only unless otherwise stated. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or exploit content without permission from the rights holder.

 

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform for unlawful purposes, harass or exploit creators or users, attempt to interfere with Platform operations, or scrape, copy, or misuse content or data.

VURT reserves the right to remove content or restrict access at its discretion.

 

8. Intellectual Property

All Platform design elements, branding, trademarks, logos, and non-creator content are the exclusive property of VURT™ and may not be used without permission. “VURT™” is a trademark of the Platform.

 

9. No Guarantees

VURT makes no guarantees regarding content selection, visibility or audience reach, monetization opportunities, or uninterrupted Platform availability. The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available.”

 

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VURT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform. Use of VURT is at your own risk.

 

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VURT from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your content, conduct, or violation of these Terms.

 

12. Modifications

VURT may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

 

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Privacy Policy

VURT™ (“VURT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) values privacy and respects the trust of creators and audiences who engage with the Platform. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you access or interact with the VURT website, platform, or related services (collectively, the “Platform”).

By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

 

1. Information We Collect

VURT collects limited information necessary to operate and improve the Platform. This may include:

  • Information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, or submission materials when you join a waitlist, submit a project, or otherwise interact with VURT.
  • Usage information, such as pages visited, interactions with the Platform, device type, browser type, and general location data. This information is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify individuals.

VURT does not knowingly collect sensitive personal data unless explicitly provided by you for a specific purpose.

 

2. How We Use Information

  • Communicate updates related to VURT, including waitlist or submission status

3. Creator Submissions

Any content or materials submitted by creators are handled with care and reviewed for platform-related purposes only.

Creators retain ownership of their content. Submission materials are not sold, shared, or exploited outside of VURT without a separate agreement.

 

4. Cookies and Analytics

VURT may use cookies or similar technologies to support basic functionality and understand general usage patterns. These tools help improve the Platform but are not used for invasive tracking or behavioral advertising.

You may control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

 

5. Sharing of Information

VURT does not sell personal information.

Information may be shared only in limited circumstances, such as:

  • With service providers who support Platform operations under confidentiality obligations
  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect the rights, safety, or integrity of VURT, creators, or users

VURT is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

You may choose not to provide certain information, though this may limit access to some Platform features. You may also request removal of submitted information through the Platform’s official channels where available.
